Welcome to my blog.
Let me give you a quick background as to how this blog has come about. There are two distinct traits that pushed me to this point. I love to observe the world. I can sit with a coffee for hours in a crowded place just to see the world at work. When I was young, my grandfather & I used to sit on a park bench & try to read the character of people from their faces as they strolled by. He used to say "You have to make decisions about trusting people in minutes of meeting them and it is true in all walks of life". Second, I travel around the world (for work & holidays). I have seen so much change in the last decade on how the world is becoming smaller & smaller and yet at the same time so much more complex to manage & deal with. Distinct boundaries of culture, values & tradition are fast blending at the edges creating a far more interlinked singular society. At the same time, the increased linkages have also created greater friction & deeper divisive lines at several levels. It may appear contradictory but please be assured it is not so. This is simply natural for there to be oscillations before finding an equilibrium. What makes this simple process scary is the pace of change & therefore the magnitude of the oscillations. And so, the question becomes how do we stay balanced & deal all this change? How do we make sense of it? That driving introspection led to some reading, a lot of thinking & a lot more observation. What I share are some of those thoughts, insights & continuing debates. I would cherish your thoughts & comments to further our collective journey down this path.
